James P. Fee, M.D., CCS, CCDS, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, serves as Chief Executive Officer of Enjoin. As a graduate of Tulane University Health Sciences Center, double-boarded in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Fee maintains a clinical practice in Hospital Medicine in Baton Rouge. He firmly believes that excellence is achieved through research and application. He brings to the industry years of healthcare management combined with clinical, coding, documentation, and operational experience. Recognized as a thought leader in clinical documentation integrity, he is credentialed by AHIMA (CCS) and ACDIS (CCDS).
As Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fee works closely with Enjoin’s executive leadership team to bring innovation and CDI transformation to the market, including CDIe, focusing on value-based care, Population Health CDI, driving population-based analytics across the continuum; and CDocT, the industry’s first comprehensive online CDI reference tool. Only through collaboration will teams be successful, and a community that embodies respect is empowered for sustainable growth and achievable innovation. Dr. Fee embraces Enjoin’s values daily and works to integrate each team member’s passion and dedication for CDI within each customer partnership.
In addition to his academic and clinical distinctions through Alpha Omega Alpha, Dr. Fee serves on advisory boards such as ACDIS Advisory Board (2015-2017) and HIM Briefings Editorial Advisory Board, providing insights for continued evolution. Dr. Fee is committed to the professional development of colleagues and provides local, state, and national presentations, including ACDIS, AHIMA, CHIA, and NCHIMA as well as many hours of coder, CDS, and physician education. Importantly, Dr. Fee brings CDI to the bedside aligning physician workflow with a manageable solution to alleviate “burn out.” In alignment with Enjoin’s mission, Dr. Fee believes CDI best practice stems from a program that is targeted, effective, efficient, sustainable, and resource aligned.
